Summer Holidays

I love these pine trees by the ocean - it makes the place so serene and majestic!!

My last day at Scarborough - 13th Feb morning... the waves were crashing in and the weather was so beautiful!!

Thanks to my MIL for the gorgeous apartment for our psuedo honeymoon(cos we're always on a honeymoon and we're always 'newlyweds') ... Naturally, we got a honeymoon suite..heh heh.

I had such a blast in Perth over the CNY holidays!!! It actually felt much longer than 9 days - in fact it felt like we spent a month there! As I said in my previous blog, time just slows its pace and all the stress just melt away... (could be the heat of course :p)
Was a great time of catching up with family and each other - we're definitely more patient and loving to each other when we have time and are not stressed out by work and colleagues!!
In fact, we had such a great time there that we're considering moving there much earlier than planned.
The best part is - we can!!!
Hahahahahaha!

Perth... here I come!!!! ...again...

Im so excited!!! Im going to Perth in 19 days!!!!!
Counting down now :)

It's my erm...6th time!

Wow!

Magnificent

Who compares to You?
Who set the stars in their place?
You who calmed the raging seas
That came crashing over me
Who compares to You?
You who bring the morning light
The hope of all the earth
Is rest assured in Your great love
You are magnificent, eternally

Wonderful, glorious
Jesus
No one ever will compare to You
Jesus

Where the evening fades
You call forth songs of joy
As the morning wakes
We Your children give You praise

Read This Book Too!

Joel Osteen's Become a Better You

The best book after Pastor Prince's Destined to Reign.

I love these Pastors!!! They should write more books!!!

Keep singing your song

The song that God has put in your heart!

He's put a song in our hearts - a song of joy and love and peace. I believe that this is what the Holy Spirit who dwells in us does - He gives us this song to sing.

This song that fills our hearts with gratefulness, with His love and His joy.

What's the song that's playing in your heart? Is it a song of regret? A sad song? Or a song of worship? A song of awe and wonder?

So many things may get us down in the course of the day... but keep this song of praise and worship in your heart. It changes your perspective!

Made to Worship

You and I are made to worship
You and I are called to Love
You and I are forgiven and free

You and I embrace surrender
You and I choose to believe
You and I will see
We were meant to be

Worship fills my soul with unspeakable joy.

The disciple whom Jesus loves

NCC played a video of Pastor Prince's message overseas and the title of His message, I believe, was the Definition of Love.

Now I thought of 1 Cor 13 immediately in my heart but he pointed out that those were the characteristics of Love - ie love is patient, love is kind...

The definition of love is found in 1 John 4:10
This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

I never caught on to this: that John in the gospel repeatedly and shamelessly pronounced himself as the disciple whom Jesus loves! Instead of writing "me" or "I" or "the author" or even "the other disciple" - John's identity was revealed in this - he is the one whom Jesus' loves!!

Here are his amazing (and sometimes amusing) proclamation of himself in this strange but wonderful way -
  1. John 13:23-35
  2. John 19:26-27
  3. John 20:2-4
  4. John 21: 4-7
  5. John 21:20

Does that mean then that Jesus didn't love the other disciples? No - He died for all of them! But they didnt catch on to this agape love. They didnt personalise it for themselves.

Just like what we would do now - we recognise that God so loved us/the world that He sent Jesus to die on the cross - but has it sunk into your heart that actually, God so loves YOU that He sent Jesus to sacrifice on the cross. It's not they, them, us... it's ME & YOU!

I used to have this phrase that I hold dear to my heart - I am the beloved of God. And i cherish that identity - that i belong to Him, that no matter what i do, have done, will do - I am His beloved.

I think that is the crux of Christianity - not what I do, but what He has done for me.
